Maksim Chmerkovskiy Stopped by Cops on Eve of “DWTS” Finale

Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced his way out of a ticket last night.
After having dinner in L.A. with his partner Erin Andrews, the “Dancing with the Stars” finalist hopped into his Mercedes and pulled away, only to be stopped moments later by the cops.
Following a brief conversation, the cops let Chmerkovskiy roll on.
TMZ claims he was stopped for going “too fast.” The site even notes, Chmerkovskiy “punched it down La Cienega… burning rubber as he left the restaurant.”
But speeding wasn’t the reason police stopped the dancer.
That’s not exactly what happened.
His rep confirms to Gossip Cop it was a license plate-related issue — not “speeding.”
Regardless, Chmerkovskiy didn’t get ticketed.
He and Andrews will hope for similarly good “results” on tonight’s “Dancing” finale.
