Maksim Chmerkovskiy NOT Returning To ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Against Doctors’ Orders, Despite Report
Maksim Chmerkovskiy is NOT ignoring doctors’ orders following his calf injury and returning to “Dancing with the Stars” sooner than recommended, despite an inaccurate webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “false.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Chmerkovskiy sustained a calf injury last week while rehearsing for the reality competition series, and has since underwent a procedure on his leg. The pro dancer is expected to rejoin the show after he heals, but no concrete return date has been set. According to RadarOnline, however, he’s “supposed to be out three to four weeks,” but is planning to circumvent his hiatus.
A so-called “source” tells the site, “He’s trying to go see the same person who worked on Sharna [Burgess]’s injury in New York City to speed it up. He might ignore doctors’ orders and perform.” The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to purport that Chmerkovskiy’s dance partner, Heather Morris, thinks she’s “being sabotaged,” and doesn’t believe that “Maks’s injury is as bad as he is saying.”
But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Chmerkovskiy, who exclusively assures us the webloid’s story is “false.” We’re told, “Maks is in recovery and his procedure went well,” but he isn’t ignoring doctors and returning to the show prematurely. Additionally, the dancer himself wrote on Instagram this week that he was unsure when he’d return because he’s taking his injury “very seriously.” He further expressed excitement at watching Morris dance the tango with his temporary replacement, Alan Bersten, on the show’s upcoming episode.
Of course, we’re not surprised by the site’s bogus report. RadarOnline is the same site that Gossip Cop called out for concocting a fake love triangle between Chmerkovskiy, Peta Murgatroyd, and Amber Rose. That claim was completely untrue, and the same goes for this latest one.
