Maksim Chmerkovskiy Quits Dancing with the Stars: Report

Maksim Chmerkovskiy is leaving “Dancing with the Stars” earlier than expected, according to a new report.

Last fall, the dancer indicated that he would exit the competition show at the end of 2013.

But according to TMZ, Chmerkovskiy told producers this week that he will not be returning for the upcoming season as planned.

He’s reportedly pursuing other TV and movie projects.

An ABC rep tells Gossip Cop, “We don’t comment on casting rumors.”

The Season 16 lineup is slated to be announced next week.

    One of the best pro’s on the show ! And a real loss for them , JMHO ! I don’t watch DWTS anymore , for probably one of the same reasons, he might be leaving~~~Those horrible and obnoxious judges. While Maks is totally gorgeous and probably a bit arrogant, he is , and it’s just my opinion, a bit more down to earth. I loved the show , but I honestly think that show is fixed. So I stopped watching. That woman judge is just the worst. Good Luck to you Maks.

    yes the judges started to make it too personal in there favourites & attacks.. Not really consistent in there judging. Ya can’t make everyone happy but don’t be so blatant about it.

    Sorry to see Maks leave….but Val is still there and he is a very good teacher and a very down to earth guy. I always thought Maks believed he was the whole show. Hope his future plans work out for him…..he could be hard to get along with on film or TV sets. Oh well…..Julianne left and so did Edyta and Alec, and everyone survived. Just hope Maks isn’t another David Caruso!
