Mag made bad call with story that Jessica Simpson dad tore into John Mayer

“Jessica Simpson may have been hurt by John Mayer’s shocking revelations about their sex life in the pages of Playboy magazine. But it was her father, Joe Simpson, who really wanted to teach the loose-lipped singer a lesson,” begins an OK! magazine exclusive, picked up (and not fact-checked) by none other than Perez Hilton.
According to OK!, “After hearing that his daughter had been humiliated by her ex’s crude disclosures, [Joe Simpson] made a furious telephone call to the Battle Studies star.”
“Joe didn’t tell Jessica ahead of time because he knew she’d object,” OK! quotes a source saying, adding, “Joe told John to stay away from his family and man-up and apologize for his comments.”
The magazine’s source further relates that “John put up a feeble defense – he tried to reason with Joe that he was praising Jessica, not insulting her… But no father wants to hear from an ex-boyfriend about how hot his daughter is in bed — and Joe told John as much.”
Gossip Cop wouldn’t blame Simpson for sticking up for his daughter and sticking it Mayer for his tasteless remarks; however, this NEVER happened (unfortunately).
A source close to Jessica Simpson tells Gossip Cop that it’s “not true at all.” Papa Simpson never reached out to the rude rocker.
