I absolutely agree with the others in the fact that you are doing everything in your power to prove they are NOT together – just to console the crybabies out there who scream, “Nooo! Please tell me they’re not together! Whaaa!”

It reminds me of all the brown noser sites (E!, EW, Hollywood reporter, etc) who always tries to cover the REAL truth by sugar coating it – just to make a celebrity look sweet and innocent.

At least TMZ goes straight to the source and always provides names (as apposed to ‘a close friend confirms this’).

I don’t see this as a desire to cater to the cynic as much as I think GC wants to keep the speculation brewing instead of solving the mystery. And honestly, without a confirmation from the players themselves what are people working with other than a smattering of gossip and their own interpretations?

I do think GC will do anything to keep this couple on the front page to benefit from the hits. I don’t know when it happened, but GC has become it’s own nightmare. Entertaining for us, humiliating for GC.

Excuse me, but if you read between the lines, GC is ( without actually saying it ;-) ) even encouraging the thought they in deed ARE an item.
You don’t even need to put any efford in reading between the lines, in this very article you can read this: “There’s no reason to believe Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are not dating…”.
Do you get it?
Read the articles about them again and read them carefully!
All GC is doing is responding to a lot of bad dish about them (and let’s face it, there’s A LOT of that going on!).

Well said OhOh!! I think the reading comprehension in this country just bad, bad, bad. Gossip Cop is not here to confirm Rob and Kristens relationship, and let it be known that I want them to be a couple and I beleive that they are together. GC is here to call out all the bad reporting and lies that these rag mags make up and they do a stellar job. And for all they people that want to blame Summit for keeping things on the down low. That is absurd. The handlers for these kids know they don’t want questions about their personal lives, so they tell them if the reporters ask any questions like that to get us away. THEY don’t want to answer. Get it. They are under no obligation to anyone to confirm or deny their relationship. It is what it is, and that is none of our business.

I’m not saying that Gossip Cop must confirm the story, their business, but should not continue to be the spokesman for the Summit PUNTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don’t get the Summit hate. Seems to me that a studio would want all the players to be happy. I don’t know why anyone would think that someone other than Rob and Kristen are deciding what they want to do about their relationship. These people have families and friends they are very close to that they probably go to for advise and help on their personal issues. I know Summit is making a lot of money from these actors, and maybe they advise them to keep things on the down low so the crazy fans aren’t dissappointed if their relationship doesn’t work out, but to say they are making them stay apart is just ridiculous to me.

Watched all the videos in which the Summit’s people take away Kristen and ,,, or Robert soon as you mention the other during the interviews, and they are fed up or why can never do red carpet or sitting close together, like the Baftas

Maybe THEY are fed up with the question, not getting pulled away. And those people are their agents and managers, not Summit. Do you think that they didn’t sit together at the BAFTA awards because they don’t want to take away from the reason they are attending. If they had walked the Red Carpet together at RM it would have been all about their relationship and not the movie. They probably chose not to walk the NM carpet together because they were trying not to out themselves. I think it probably did the opposite of what they wanted, and caused more speculation, but whatever. They are adorable, I love them both, together or not and hope both the Runaways and Remember Me do well at the box office this month.

@ KateWinterman Finally, a level-headed person. Yes, I agree that they’re milking this ‘mystery’ for all it’s worth. And I know that they’re not alone in this. So many other sites/mags are doing it as well. But, as a past devoted fan of Tiger Beat and 16, I can’t keep from seeing the similarities between the teeny mag’s articles and GC’s articles.

Of course, if the real truth came out… what would everyone talk about then?
