Madonna Dedicates Song To Son Rocco During Australia Show (VIDEO)
Madonna performed her song “Intervention” while several photos of her estranged 15-year-old son Rocco flashed on a screen during her Tears of a Clown show in Melbourne, Australia on Thursday night. Watch a video below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Madonna has been engaged in a custody battle with ex-husband Guy Ritchie since late last year. In December, their son Rocco refused to live with the singer in New York, and insisted on staying with his dad in London. Madonna initially obtained a court order to legally force Rocco to live with her, but a New York judge recently ruled that the boy could remain in London. As of now, the case has yet to be settled.
Halfway through her Melbourne concert, Madonna addressed the situation with Rocco, telling the crowd of around 1,500 people, “Everybody knows the saga of me and my son Rocco. It’s not a fun story to tell or think about.” She added, “I probably could have enjoyed myself a little bit more on this tour if he hadn’t disappeared so suddenly, and also if I knew when I would see him again.” Madonna then paid tribute to her son with the song “Intervention,” which includes such lyrics as “I’ve got to save my baby” and “I know that love will keep us together.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Madonna dedicated the song “La Vie En Rose” to Rocco during her concert in New Zealand last week. Meanwhile, Madonna and Ritchie’s next custody hearing is scheduled for June 1.
