Busting bad dish!

Madonna & Sean Penn did NOT share romantic dinner, as reported elsewhere

Truth rating: 2

HollywoodLife.com)Today, HollywoodLife boasts, “EXCLUSIVE! Madonna & Sean Penn! Their Three & A Half Hour Dinner Date!

The item goes on to ask, “Could there be a romantic reconciliation in the works for the Material Girl and her First Husband?”

The story, which got picked up by Perez Hilton and other fact checking-adverse outlets, then claims, “The former married couple had a very long dinner a deux, Jan. 7, at romantic two Michelin-star NYC restaurant, Adour, in the St. Regis Hotel.”

“If sparks weren’t flying at all,” reads the post, “would the two REALLY have lingered for over three and a half hours”? The blog then gushes, “Madonna loves a strong man, especially a man who directs movies!” and even notes that – would you believe? – Sean Penn directs, too.

This is all lovely, but not very accurate.

It’s true both Madonna and Penn were in the same restaurant, but the singing superstar was having dinner with a GROUP of people that did NOT include her ex-husband.

“Sean stopped by the table and sat for a very brief time — 15-20 minutes, and Madonna then continued her dinner,” confirmed her rep, who labeled the HollywoodLife account was “such an exaggeration.”

Madonna’s rep is not a source. REPS ARE PAID TO DO DAMAGE CONTROL FOR THEIR CLIENTS. HELLOOO??? This isn’t journalism……. are you that desperate for a job in PR, Michael? Really?

That’s so funny questioning journalism, mediagal, considering if you read the HollywoodLife story you’ll notice there is not one single source cited. Not one.

Gossip Cop, on the other hand, had several people within the restaurant who actually tipped us off that the HollywoodLife story was exaggerated. Madonna’s rep only confirmed what we had already been told by a chorus of people inside the restaurant.

Also, two and a half hours after Gossip Cop posted its story about this, People magazine posted an article that pretty much encapsulated everything in its headline — “Madonna and Sean Penn’s Chance Encounter.”

Thanks, though, for the personal comment, and rest assured Gossip Cop had plenty of back-up (sources) to bust this bad dish.

What a BS! If Madonna’s rep says something it doesn’t mean it’s true; usually it actually means that the truth is the opposite of what she shays. Liz Rosenberg is known to lie about Madonna’s personal life in order to protect her.
she lied about the pregnancies, adoption, the A-Rod affair and more.
To People mag Liz said it was just 10 minutes and to you it’s already 15-20 – she’s not consistent even.

There’s a video of both Madonna and Sean entering the restaurant together with their security guards.

Also, today Page Six reports that it was definitely just the two of them for hours.

    * shays = says.
    Pardon the typo.
