No one can adopt a rumor as quickly (or carelessly) as Perez Hilton.

Picking up a British tabloid claim and running wild with it, Perez reports that Madonna “is planning a trip over to Malawi before the holidays” and “has been in touch with an orphanage — because little Mercy wants a younger sibling!”

“Adopting another child is certainly something not to be taken lightly,” concludes Perez, “so we’re glad that she’s put some serious thought into it!”

Sigh.

If only the blogger would put some “serious thought” into his claims before making them.

Madonna’s rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop, “None of this is true — not the trip or pending adoption.”
