James Franco Buys Teenage Fan’s Art

James Franco is a huge supporter of art… especially when he’s the subject.

While at the Toronto Film Festival to discuss his “Memories of Idaho” art installation, the actor-director-artist saw 13-year-old Macy Armstrong, who runs the “James Franco Forever” Tumblr site and creates Franco-based art, including three pieces she’d brought with her.

Armstrong (wearing a homemade Franco shirt), was carrying a yarn portrait of Franco, a canvas inspired by his 127 Hours and a collage made from newspaper clippings, when she ran into her idol.

When he spotted her artwork, Franco said, “I saw that one on the Internet, someone sent it to me. I wanna buy those.”

It’s unknown how much Franco paid for the art, but Armstrong was happy, to say the least.

“Ohmygod I don’t know what just happened but I can’t breath! I gave James my art! And he has my email! And he’s seen my 127 Hours painting!! AHHHHH,” she wrote on her Tumblr.

“He looked at me, he spoke to me, and I’m pretty sure we mentally got married!” she added. “Everyone on the street thinks I’m crazy because Im freaking out! Its like a dream!”
