MacKenzie Bourg “Roses” “American Idol” Video: Watch Top 14 Performance!
MacKenzie Bourg performed his original song “Roses” for his “American Idol” Top 14 performance on Wednesday. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop reported, Bourg secured a place in the Top 14 earlier this month with a stirring performance of “Say Something.” But this week, it was revealed he wasn’t one of the judges’ favorites. Four contestants (Olivia Rox, Dalton Rapattoni, La’Porsha Renae, and Trent Harmon) were chosen to automatically join the Top 10.
Bourg and the other remaining competitors now had to fight to win one of six wild card slots. And the former “Voice” contestant chose to gamble with a song he wrote himself. Bourg actually first performed a snippet of “Roses” for the panel during Hollywood Week, and they were pretty impressed.
Now he won them over with a longer, more formal but still personal performance of the track that closed the episode. Keith Urban told Bourg afterward, “That’s such a great song. It really is. You have everybody reacting to that song and it’s your song — that’s an amazing thing. You sang great.”
But don’t go calling Bourg’s entry into the Top 10 a safe bet. For the first time this season, it’s up to viewers to decide who takes the final spots. Bourg will find out if he made it on Thursday. Check out the “Roses” performance below!
