Luke Wade Wows Coaches With “That’s How Strong My Love Is” On Voice Premiere
Luke Wade kicked off the season 7 premiere of “The Voice” on Monday and wowed the coaches with his rendition of Otis Redding’s “That’s How Strong My Love Is.” Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell all turned around in their chairs within 30 seconds of Wade starting to sing.
After receiving a standing ovation, each coach tried to get Wade, who lost his vision in his right eye after a paintball accident, to pick them. Levine, for example, said, “You’re gonna win, and you’re gonna be on my team,” while Stefani promised to give the young singer “a lot of focus.”
Then Pharrell said, “You can ask Justin [Timberlake], you can ask Robin [Thicke]… I know what to do with that voice.” It worked because Wade went with Pharrell, prompting the hitmaker to exclaim he was “so happy!”
