“Real Housewives of New York” star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps has spoken out about her 16-year-old daughter’s use of the N-word on a YouTube video, calling it “unacceptable.”

In the video, which fellow “Housewives” star Ramona Singer leaked on Twitter, Lesseps’ daughter Victoria is seen rolling a cigarette and using the N-word.

The Countess tells PopEater that she’s using this incident to teach her daughter about the consequences of her actions.

“I am the parent of a teenager, and as any parent can attest, teenagers go through periods of doing things that are wrong and not appropriate and that are later regretted,” she exclusively tells PopEater.

“My daughter Victoria knows that the behavior she exhibited was unacceptable,” says Lesseps, adding, “I have chosen to deal with this as a private family matter and an opportunity to discuss consequences of our actions.”

The video has since been taken down.

That should look good on a college entrance exam. I hope she tells her daughter that even when she’s 70, she will STILL be known as the racist who uses the n-word, to the rest of the world. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens on the web, NEVER goes away. I understand why the mom wants to keep it ‘private,’ however, since it’s public already, for her daughter’s sake, she should have her issue a likewise PUBLIC apology.

I’m sorry, but shouldn’t she be more worried about her daughter smoking than using a word? Not that I condone the use of that word because I don’t even use it, but the girl is a teenager(16) and the fact that she was rolling a blunt isn’t that bad?

I don’t care what the child did. With teenagers, anything can happen—–they all make mistakes. But Ramona is an adult, and posting it on youtube shows what a mean person she is. The kids should be left out of the typical backstabbing that this show promotes, and RS should know better. It’s evident that she has a lack of filters when speaking (which is just her excuse to be nasty) but this action clearly shows that nothing is off bounds for this woman.

I suppose we’re all supposed to be shocked and inflamed over this teenager’s actions, but I find it’s Ramona’s actions that are shocking.

People discussing what this will do to her future – nothing – if she, like most teens, outgrow it. She has been through divorce. The thing is, Ramona talks about LuAnn not spending time with Victoria. Maybe Victoria was sent out of town because of all that was going on in her parent’s divorce. Now if Ramona had not re-posted this, it would not have generated the attention it did. Yes it was out there, but for a grown woman to do this is unspeakable.
