Louis Tomlinson Jimmy Fallon Video: Watch “Just Hold On” Performance On “Tonight Show”
Louis Tommlinson performed “Just Hold On” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop has reported, “Just Hold On” is Tomlinson’s first single without One Direction. The song kicks off his solo career while the group remains on hiatus, but the track has bittersweet beginnings. It was released in December, just after the death of Tomlinson’s mom, Johannah.
Tomlinson performed “Just Hold On” live for the first time on “The X Factor UK” only days after his mother’s passing. His appearance on “The Tonight Show” now marks his first U.S. television performance of the track. And, like on “The X Factor,” he was joined by collaborator Steve Aoki.
The pair have been on media tour promoting “Just Hold On” in the States over the last week. Understandably, some of those interviews have included discussing the impact Tomlinson’s mom had on both his career and the song, which has been seen as a tribute to her. “When we wrote the song, it was more about any kind of hardship in life you might have to struggle with,” he told Ryan Seacrest. “That wasn’t the intention deliberately. It’s kind of saying don’t feel sorry for yourself; keep fighting, keep strong.”
He added, referring to the “X Factor” debut, “So those two kind of fell into place and that obviously made the performance more personal for me.” Of course, Tomlinson is no stranger to “The Tonight Show,” though. He and One Direction last appeared with Fallon in 2014.
