LoCash National Anthem World Series Video: Watch ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ Performance!
Country music duo LoCash, comprised of Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, sang the National Anthem before Game Two of the World Series at Progressive Field on Wednesday night. Watch their performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner” in the video below!
The musicians took the field to kick off the ceremony shortly between the second match-up between the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs. LoCash was considered a surprising choice to receive the honor of performing at such a major sporting event since the pair isn’t well known outside of the country music scene. However, the duo is starting to achieve mainstream success thanks to their 2015 song “I Love This Life.”
LoCash’s track, an anthem about simple country living, reached number 56 on the U.S. Hot 100 Billboard chart and number 5 on the Hot Country Songs Billboard chart earlier this year. Their follow-up song, “I Know Somebody,” also cracked the Top 10 and reached number 1 on the country music charts. Both tracks are included on their latest album, The Fighters, which is their best-selling record to date.
Lucas and Brust are also accomplished songwriters having penned hit tracks for several country artists, including Keith Urban and Tim McGraw. On Tuesday, Rachel Platten sang the National Anthem before Game One of the World Series. To see LoCash performing the National Anthem at Game Two, watch the video below!
