Thursday night’s “30 Rock” was aired live (once for the East Coast, once for the West Coast), and plenty of special guest stars helped out.

The episode’s plot actually centered on the concept of “live TV” itself, leading to several short bits “celebrating” NBC’s long history of live broadcasts.

Paul McCartney (East Coast) and Kim Kardashian (West Coast) did surprise walk-ons, while Jon Hamm managed to parody both a 1950s blackface routine and a sexist 1970 news broadcast.

Plus, Amy Poehler played Tina Fey in a flashback!
