As Gossip Cop has reported, the group of tough-looking men from Kentucky shocked the judges with their smooth vocals when they sang “Over The Rainbow” for their season 11 audition. They followed that with an a capella arrangement of “Free Bird” during the “AGT” Judge Cuts round. Guest judge Ne-Yo was even blown away, and the men once again became emotional over the feedback.
Now Linkin Bridge had its first opportunity to perform live during the NBC competition, taking the stage at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. For their quarterfinal performance, they went with “Always On My Mind,” which pleased the judges. Howie Mandel even gave a standing ovation, but it was Simon Cowell who spoke first.
He said, “I’m excited right now, because from the first time I saw you, I really, really liked you. And there’s something about you. I think that you also aspire me.” That said, though, he didn’t think “Always On My Mind” was the “perfect song choice,” but he said the group was still worthy of viewers’ votes.
Mandel disagreed on the song criticism, saying, “I loved the harmony, I loved the sound.” He went on, “This is so weird as one man looking into the eyes of four men, [but] I only have one thing to say to you directly from my heart: You guys are beautiful.”
Mel B further gushed, “Your strongest point is your harmonies. The way that your voices blend together, it makes me melt. I loved it. I really did.” Watch the full video below!
