Lindsay Lohan is suing rapper Pitbull for a line in his song “Give Me Everything” she says disparages her.

The lyric in question is: “Hustlers move aside, so I’m tiptoein’, keep flown’ / I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan.”

The actress’ lawsuit also names the hit’s co-writers, Ne-Yo and Afrojack.

Lohan’s suit is grounded in New York civil rights laws that offer protection from having one’s name exploited for commercial purpose.

According to the documents, Lohan claims “condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements” in the lyrics are “destined to do irreparable harm to [her].”

She is seeking unspecified damages, as well as an injunction to stop the song from being played.

Listen to the lyrics in question at the 1:10 mark in the video below!

Good for her, nice to see her fighting back.

Ridiculous! I like Lindsay and I want her career and life back on track, but that lyric isn’t “destined to do irreparable harm to [her].” Drugs and alchohol use is.

I’ve heard the line many times and found it funny. She needs to lighten up. Rappers all the time refer to celebrities in their lyrics to either make fun of them, praise them or make people think. Rarely do they get sued because it is free speech and an art form. It’s music. Remember music Lindsay? Remember you used to make it too before all the drugs got in the way.

    Sigh. Good luck to her!

doesn’t Eminem have her name in one of his songs? i can’t remember

she is freaking mess so sick of her antics this is why they passed her up on that other film but she’s in desperate need of money im sure so that’s why she’s suing. i loved lilo for many years, brought all her albums/dvds and i actually liked “i know who killed me.” because i thought she did a great job and laughed at all the awkward scenes especially when her poor mom had to hear them getting it on…anyway after that i lost a lot of respect for her, there is only so much time that you can keep blaming your parents for your life take some responsibilities put the crack pipe down and clean yourself up. i never understood why celebs who make fucking millions of dollars would throw it all down the train for a high when so many people would kill to be their shoes. lighten up lilo and wake up you are nothing but a laughing joke now to so many people now…should’ve learned something from your much better/classier co stars Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfield

    *responsibility and drain oops.*

  • twilight is about having a bf

well now, you just plowed right through all those fancy punctuation marks didn’t you

  • Babybop728

I think that the lyrics are insensitive! I’m on her side.

Does seem a little too much, songs have this all the time. I remember way back Eminem said something bad about Christina Aguilera in a song and all she did was confront him about it and worked it out. Oh well, I love Lindsay anyway so good luck to her!

  • fishyone

She should thank them or trying to make her relevant again because her own actions do he exact opposite. This seems to be her new line of work – suing people for random “hateful acts” towards her. Seriously?

She needs to do something to get attention. I guess this is it.

Obviously all those lawyer bills are racking up and since know one wants to hire her she needs money another way!! She needs to realize that it’s over..she is washed up nobody wants to hire her and she needs to move on!! And if she would stay out of trouble then maybe people wouldn’t talk or sing about her in that way, but she continues so people are going to keep using her as an example.

  • Regina1180

I guess Ryan Seacrest is going to sue next…We all know that NOBODY makes money like him. =P

  • Mel

It seems like she’s desperate for money that she has to sue anyone that mentions her. It’s so ridiculous. Anything to keep her name in the media, I guess.

It’s annoying when people name-drop in songs anyways… lol.

“the lyrics are “destined to do irreparable harm to [her].”
Is she joking? She’s done irreparable harm to herself. This girl needs to get her act together and get a life. The lyric is only stating a fact. Is she going to go around suing everyone who uses her name in the jokes they say because plenty of late night talk show hosts make fun of her. Worry about more important things like fixing your life Lindsay.

If this gets to court, I think the writers will win. The line is “I got IT locked up….” They’re going to argue that they never say anything like “I’M locked up….” They don’t say what IT is. I think they covered themselves with this one.

Are you kidding me? She sues etrade over baby lindsey, now suing a true artist; you’re as delusional as she it…

I hope she wins. Songwriters should not be able to use their music as a legal safety net to publically disgrace and slander other stars.

  • twilight is underneath kstew

okay i like your screen name if I’m not mistaken that is the quote from stephen king when comparing harry to twilight. now no offense but i can’t stand when people get on gossip sites and nit pick over punctuation/spelling from others this isn’t a freaking english online course get over yourself i’m not worried about spelling etc on a website like this…msnbc/cnn maybe but not on celeb sites.

  • if the shoe fits…

I hate to be the voice of common sense, buuuuuuuut….if she’d keep her dumb butt out of jail, there wouldn’t be lyrics with her name and “locked up” in the same verse, much less the same sentence. if you can’t take the heat, stay out of jail, er, the kitchen!
