Lindsay Lohan Confirmed to Make Stage Debut in “Speed-the-Plow”
Lindsay Lohan is officially set to make her stage debut in the West End production of “Speed-the-Plow.” The actress previously announced that she was preparing for a potential role in a London staging of the David Mamet play.
“Speed-the-Plow” is about two Hollywood producers who dream of making it big in the industry. On Thursday, producers confirmed the casting of Lohan as Karen, a secretary who complicates the producers’ plans.
Performances of the new production will begin with previews on September 24. It’s expected to run through November 29.
Lohan, of course, has built her career around the big screen. She rocketed to fame with a critically-acclaimed performance (of not one, but two!) characters in The Parent Trap. She went on do more kid- and teen-friendly fare such as Freaky Friday and Mean Girls.
In recent years, Lohan has gravitated to more adult material. That includes Machete and The Canyons, in which she appeared nude.
Over the years the star has bade some TV appearances, too. Liz & Dick was a TV movie on Lifetime, which was followed by appearances on “Anger Management, “Eastbound & Down,” and “2 Broke Girls.”
In January, Lohan attended the Sundance Film Festival to announce her next film, Inconceivable. It’s unclear when that will be shot.
