Lindsay Lohan Considering Plea Deal

(Getty Images)

Lindsay Lohan is considering a plea deal in her felony grand theft case, even though it would mean serving jail time for a crime she maintains she didn’t commit.

Sources tell Gossip Cop that Judge Keith Schwartz has conveyed to Lohan’s defense lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley an offer of three months in jail for the actress, with only about three weeks of that time actually served, due to overcrowding.

Last month, Lohan was charged with felony grand theft for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry boutique on January 22. She has insisted that she is innocent, and previously indicated that she has no intention of pleading guilty or no contest to the charge.

Schwartz has made it very clear that a plea will include jail time.

But should Lohan decide to go to trial, she risks spending at least a year in prison.

Lohan is due back in court this Friday to give her decision.

If she chooses not to accept a plea deal, Lohan will appear before Judge Stephanie Sautner on April 22 for a preliminary trial hearing.

What do you think she should do?

Lindsay should not take their deal. The Prosecutors have no case, no chance at winning. It sucks that they pretty much get away bullying people into taking a deal. It’s how prosecutors win 90% of their cases. Evil bastards.

I think she should take the plea. Lindsay has a history of walking off with things that don’t belong to her. She goes to trial she has a good chance of losing and going to a state prison. If she dosen’t plea she’s also going to end up in jail on a probation violation while waiting to go to trial. Either way she’s doing prison time. Better to plea and do the three weeks. It’s not like this will wreck her reputation. Thats already gone.

Why in the hell does this girl keep getting off! Lindsay Lohan is a criminal and has proven she can’t be rehabilitated. Give her the same jail time you would someone else that is not a so called celeb.

Look at the power of the media! – Now people think their stories are fact! :(

Here we have two people saying that Lindsay is a criminal but in reality she has never done anything she’s been convicted for. She does not have a history of stealing or anything to that effect.

The only thing she has ever done is a DUI that ended in an accident with material damage only (which Lindsay paid for). The media had created an image of a severely out of control Lindsay so the judge put her on probation with some conditions. Among those were some alcohol counseling meetings of which Lindsay had to miss one due to work (she was in Africa and thought she got permission from the court) and one due to a missed flight from Cannes (again work promoting her work) due to a lost passport. The judge threw the book at her for this (despite her not being responsible for these violations) and her in jail.

Lindsay never had a drinking problem.
Lindsay never had a drug problem (cocaine etc.)

The media invented these because Lindsay was at clubs all the time (her girlfriend worked there) so she had to be drinking and doing drugs all the time. The sleazy ones even tried manufacturing stuff like tripping her and snapping pictures of her on the ground claiming she was too drunk to stand, or throwing powdered sugar at her, snapping pictures of it and claiming it was cocaine.

Lindsay did have a problem with a prescription painkiller she started using in connection with a broken wrist, and she went into rehab for that, and did get clean.

Just like Britney Spears Lindsay was a prime paparazzi target, drawing huge crowds everywhere, now more than ever. Various businesses have always used those in the spotlight to promote their stuff any way they could, and now an apparently sleazy jeweler have gone to new extremes. First you lend Lindsay something (just her leaving the shop wearing it results in thousands of pics) and then you claim she walked out without permission, getting publicity through the high profile case that follows. And high profile it is. Just Lindsay arriving at the court for a plea brings out over 200 photographers, a dozen television-crews (3 sending the event live) and countless spectators. It’s cheap and evil and Lindsay is the victim, not a criminal.
