Lindsay Lohan Stumbles In Stage Debut, Forgets Lines As Audiences Laughs At Her In First Speed-the-plow Preview
Lindsay Lohan’s stage debut did not get off to a stellar start on Thursday. The actress reportedly forgot her lines during the first preview for the production of Speed-the-plow on London’s West End.
One report even claims the audience began laughing as Lohan visibly struggled with her cues. Some attendees took to Twitter afterward to rip the star, calling her a “disgrace,” but others were considerably more mixed in their reviews, with one tweeting that Lohan was “fine, neither fab or a hot mess, just fine.”
It’s also important to stress that Thursday’s showing was just the first preview for the production, a time when the on- and off-stage kinks are still being worked out. As one reviewer notes, with increased rehearsals and additional preview performances, Lohan may very well be polished by the official opening on October 2.
As Gossip Cop has reported, the star has already expressed the hope that her stage turn will help repair her reputation.
And Gossip Cop would like to point out another caveat. This is also Lohan’s first play ever. The star made her career in movies, and she also has a handful of television appearances on her belt. Performing in a live-non-stop production is way different than filming on a set, where someone could call “cut” at any moment for any need.
Lohan is understandably green. You know what they say, practice makes perfect. And that’s exactly what previews are for.
