Lindsay Lohan’s computer was stolen, and she wants it back. Lohan attended the Sohu Fashion Achievement Awards in Shanghai on Monday, after which her laptop apparently went missing.
On Tuesday, the actress tweeted, “It was great to be in China and I want to thank everyone for their hospitality, however someone has stolen my computer at the airport… offering a reward for anyone who can retrieve and rtn it, bummer to go home w/o it. xo L.”
She is not the first star to have electronics stolen and tweet about it. Unfortunately, the advent of technology, and specifically social media, both helps and hurts Lohan right now. Celebrities are routinely hacked, with social networking sites being abused, both in obtaining celebs’ information, and then spreading it. Lohan undoubtedly has personal information stored on her computer that, while not necessarily damaging, is personal nonetheless.
Of course, without social media, Lohan might not stand a chance at getting her possession back. Her online query goes much further, reaching more people, thanks to Twitter than a call to an airport lost and found, or even the police, ever would. Hopefully, a Good Samaritan comes through for Lohan.
