None of that will do any real good. She is a serious narcissistic disorder with suicidal tendencies.What else can you say when someone ruins their career and life like this. It is a SCREAM for help. Ddrugs are not the problem. She is using drugs and alcohol to self medicate herself so she won’t keep feeling unbearable pain. It would take a very skilled person to help her. Even Marianne Kris, the great psychoanalyst and her peer Greenson, couldn’t help Marilyn Monroe. I believe Francoise Dolto could have. Perhaps Lacan. Spotnitz yes. Ethel Clevens yes. But when you are in this state it is the very worst time to find an excellent one because good isn’t going to cut it. Like when you desperately need a lawyer that’s not the time to go looking. Or a great cancer specialist same thing. I don’t know who I would suggest for her now. She is drowning and she can’t keep swimming much longer.

Ssshe really doesn’t need to be committed. She needs a really excellent analyst. There aren’t many. I know of no one in LA but that’s because I am out of the loop on that now. I would suggest a Lancanian if there is one to be found.

Not knowing anything about analysis, going to NHS and getting arguably the best analyst in the world at the time. Dolto analyzed Lacan and he said she was the clinician who put all his theory into practice. Her case study of Dominique will astound you if you have ever worked in the health services. I agree. It’s hard to watch. I have learned it’s hard to make a horse drink the water. Who would she have around her to suggest anything remotely resembling a wise choice.
