Lindsay Lohan met Bana Alabed, the 7-year-old Syrian girl who became famous after tweeting about her life in Aleppo, in Turkey on Friday. Watch a video of their encounter below.
Alabed recently went viral when tweets she wrote about suffering on a daily basis in her war-torn nation were shared around the world. The young girl describes herself as a “7 years old peace preacher” on her Twitter account, which is managed by her mom. Lohan met Alabed during her trip to Turkey, and the two shared a video together on Periscope. “We want to send all the people in Syria and Aleppo suffering, all the refugees, that we are here supporting you, and you can hang on be strong just like Bana has,” Lohan says in the video. “Sending you lots of love and light and blessings.” Bana then tells Lohan, “I love you,” and the actress returns the sentiment.
Lohan recently became very passionate in helping out in the Syrian refugee crisis. She has visited the nation more than once in the past several months, including a stop at a hospital in Istanbul to greet sick and injured Syrian refugees. On Friday, the actress met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the presidential palace, where she was joined by Alabed. Watch their meeting in the video below.
