Lindsay Lohan Arrested in New York After Allegedly Hitting Pedestrian with Porsche

Lindsay Lohan was arrested in New York early Wednesday for allegedly hitting a pedestrian with her Porsche and leaving the scene of the accident, Gossip Cop has confirmed.

The actress allegedly struck an unidentified man at low speed while trying to park near the Dream Downtown hotel in Manhattan.

Lohan and her entourage quickly checked the vehicle for damage and then went into the hotel.

Police were later summoned to the scene, and the star was arrested as she left the building around 2:30 a.m.

Lohan was taken to the local police precinct, charged with a misdemeanor for leaving the scene of an accident, and released with a desk appearance ticket.

The actress will appear in court at a later date.

Cops do not believe alcohol was involved in the incident.

A rep for Lohan tells Gossip Cop: “While some of the facts are still being gathered, it appears that this is much ado about nothing. We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the coming weeks and the claims being made against Lindsay will be proven untrue.”

While the pedestrian was reportedly taken to Bellevue Hospital, surveillance video shows the starlet’s car only grazed — or possibly never even touched — him, reports TMZ.

Lohan’s arrest could represent a probation violation following her jewelry theft case.

    …if alcohol wasn’t involved it really does seem like just a misunderstanding – she thought she was free to leave after exchanging information – and the desk appearance ticket kind of leans toward that, that she didn’t intend to “leave the scene” or “flee” as much as just thought she was free to go when she wasn’t. to be honest an arrest for giving such a citation really seems overdone in and of itself. thinking the cops were just looking to get her here.

    Wow, I’ve been rooting for her all this time. She seemed to be good, but seriously you know you’re going to get in trouble for leaving the scene, why couldn’t you just see if the person was okay? This isn’t a huge legal problem, a lot of this happens everyday, but you shouldn’t leave the scene.

    Alcohol does not have to be involved for a person to be negligent. Someone with this type of history needs to stick around after hitting a person with a car. Probably most reasonable people would stick around if they hit a person.

    Surveilance footage was viewed by two detectives, who both could not determine whether Lindsay actually hit Jose, one detective said the car might’ve grazed the guy, the other said it didn’t look like he was hit at all, plus the video shows him sprinting afterwards, I don’t know about you, but if I got hit by a car, I sure as hell wouldn’t be sprinting!

    Why would Lindsay Lohan and her entourage check her vehicle for damage if she she didn’t hit the man? It really doesn’t make a lot of sense.
