Lil Wayne Announces Deal With Jay Z’s Roc Nation? – WATCH VIDEO
Lil Wayne, who is in the midst of a battle with Cash Money, announced he had a new deal with Jay Z during a concert on Saturday at the KMEL Summer Jam in Oakland, California, leading to speculation it was with Roc Nation. But it’s not, Gossip Cop has learned. At one point while performing, Lil Wayne simply told the audience, “I just signed a deal with my motherf*cking idol Jay Z.” We’re told it’s just the same deal we all knew about with Tidal. See the video below.
It was widely speculated that the deal Lil Wayne mentioned was with Roc Nation because of his dissatisfaction with Cash Money. As Gossip Cop has previously reported, Lil Wayne is at war with his Cash Money partner Birdman over the delay of his record Tha Carter V. Earlier this year, Lil Wayne sued Cash Money for $51 million, alleging the label is withholding million of dollars he’s owed because of the album’s delayed release. He also asked the court to release him from his contract with Cash Money, because of the label’s refusal to pay him for the as-yet-released album. Additionally, Lil Wayne has sought to be given joint copyright ownership of Young Money’s catalogue of music, which includes songs by Drake and Nicki Minaj.
Notwithstanding, Lil Wayne has NOT signed with Roc Nation, as of now.
