Celebrity loving middle America didn’t know Rupert’s name, yes. Hollywood did know. Rupert’s short films and ad work have won awards, much praise from critics, and attracted the attention of powerful film producers. A “nobody” doesn’t walk in off the street and get handed a 170 million film budget.

No, it’s not easy, mick. With all due respect to Robert Pattinson, who is no doubt deeply heartbroken, it’s a good deal easier to dissolve a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship of a few years than it is to end a 10 year marriage with children. Also, I will add that Rupert and Liberty’s youngest child had a birthday this week. As a family, possibly they’ve tried to focus on that.

I do understand that most of Kristen’s fans are young and so it is unlikely they are able to grasp the complexities of adult life. I also understand their need to passionately defend their idol. What I don’t understand is the need to attack Liberty and Robert.

The movie deal he has signed for was in the works long before the scandal broke. It is for a project called 90 Church and will be produced by a good family friend of Rupert’s, Joe Roth. He has not signed on for SWATH sequel, The Huntsman. And very likely will not be asked to. I’m sure many of Kristen’s Hollywood connections and friends (she has many) will come to her aid with projects too.

What do you know? You know that pictures were taken of RS and KS making out and they confessed. That is all you know. Kristen has said there was no sex. Hollywood life needs to stop drumming up drama for hits and clicks.

Words matter. Be responsible. For weeks I have been like the rest of you, trying to put things into perspective. Initially, I felt that Liberty was behind this entire thing. To me. it was a clear path between her and tipping the press. The other night I was reading a post that put Rupert in the drivers seat. The post was funny, sort of. Heck! I really laughed. But the post made the point that Rupert set out to break up Rob and Kristen and secure a end to his marriage.
The more I think about that and the photos showing him beingl grabby. Well. That would breakup most couples. I mean, accoording to an article written about her a few weeks earlier suggest that things could have gone down either way. He had a reason to tip the tabloids but so did she. Maybe they never meant to the extent that has occured, but I believe they fed the “monster”. My fear is that this “monster” will never be satisfied. I still believe KKristen met this man as a friend or mentor, not as a lover. He flipped the script. Liberty, knew h her husband had roaming eyes. But never expected Kristen was his target. I may not be totally right, but mostly right. someday we will know,

Much has been written on this blog claiming that there was nothing to gain by any of the parties to fake this incident and punk everyone. But just for the sake of argument let’s assume Rob, Kristen, Rupert, and Liberty agreed to stage this incident and create a punk of the celebrity gossip machine. What would they have to gain? And would it be a career ending prank as many have argued?

Get real. A successfully executed punk would propel their collective careers, not end them.

AND I THINK THE FACT THAT THIS POST ALREADY HAS OVER 125 COMMENTS ON IT IN LESS THAN FOUR HOURS PROVES THE POINT.

Let’s count the reasons why:

1. Notoriety
Rob and Kristen’s career arcs were already stratospheric, particularly with some age cohorts, but I think it’s hard to argue that their notoriety would not be even more broad following this manufactured “scandal” . A quick scan of the posters on this blog suggests that there are many who are very familiar with this story now even though they were not otherwise fans of Twilight before or followed any of their careers. If this ends with a happily ever after, that notoriety is even more assured.
Rupert Sanders and his wife Liberty were far less known, she was a former Vogue model and bit part actress, he the director of a reasonably successful reboot of a popular fairytale. Prior to this incident, far more people were familiar with the movie because of the involvement of Kristen, Charlize Theron, and Chris Hemsworth, not them. If this was all staged and Rupert and Liberty played a key role in it, they each become part of a Hollywood legend. You think that would hurt their careers?

2. Sweet Revenge
Both Rob and Kristen have been hounded by the paparazzi, and the celebrity gossip machine, and the ever present bloggers of gossip websites ever since their involvement in Twilight. They have both been accused of being gay, being drug abusers, being married, being engaged, and being pregnant multiple times; being involved in a faux romance to bilk even more money out of the unsuspecting fans; and being talentless actors. If this all turns out to be staged and a hoax, every person who believed it has to admit Kristen is a pretty good actress. And certainly a lot smarter and more cunning than they are. And every person who uttered an unkind comment about either of them would have to reflect on what compelled them to do so.
For years Kristen has been accused of being talentless, one expression, one-dimensional actress by some although she is roundly praised by those who have worked with her. This is mostly because she had the audacity to get involved in a relationship with Rob. Considering how many people have been driven to calling her a skank, a whore, and home wrecker because she convinced them that this scandal actually happened, it would be a lot harder for them to ever argue that again. Maybe not a great actress, but certainly good enough to make fools of them.
3. Publicity
There is little question that this incident has thrust all four of them into the public eye far beyond where each of them had been. They say that there is no such thing as bad publicity and for people who work in the entertainment business, publicity is everything. Currently for Kristen and Rupert, the publicity is negative, as they are there as the hated, the cheaters. For Liberty and Rob, they have the more desirable roles as the sympathetic victims, the unjustly wronged. But if they spring the trap and tell the world it was all staged, the story has a happy ending and all four of them come out as winners. To be followed by an endless series of further articles as to how it was pulled off, further propelling the notoriety and publicity about them.

4. Privacy
With the trap effectively accomplished, I can’t help but feel that the celebrity gossip machine would have to back off, if only for a while, and if only by a notch or two. But you got to believe that they might not want to mess with Ms. Stewart and Mr. Pattinson for awhile. Especially regarding some claimed impropriety. It may afford Rob and Kristen a little more personal space that they desperately crave.

5. Financial Success
Do you think for one moment that if this was staged and has a happy ending, that BD2 would not be even more wildly successful than ever, perhaps even the most successful of all. After all, it would the last of the series, and would be the first where everyone going in would know that Rob and Kristen were really together both on and off the screen. Twitards would be more enthralled than ever as “the dream lives on” even stronger than before. Others who maybe have never been familiar with the saga prior to this incident would be drawn to see it because of it. With all the attention on Ruppert and Liberty, the financial rewards are sure to follow.

The reason most people do not appreciate the benefits of a well executed punk is because they are looking at the situation as it appears currently. But if Rob Kristen Rupert and Liberty spring the trap and collectively yell you’ve been punked, this is not a career ending prank, but rather a boon to their careers. I think it is conceivable to doubt the prank, but it’s hard to argue against these benefits if in fact one is occurring.

First off they have been married 10 years not 18. She knew her husband was infatuated with Kristen. I doubt Kristen was infatuated with him. If you listen to her interviews she is fasinated by directors and producers and the vision they have to put it together and make it work. Just because she had respect for him does not mean she was infatuated with him. Sit down with those pictures and REALLY look at them. Actually that scenario does not come from US Magazine or Fame FlyNet.com.

That one comes from the head of a rival paparazzi company that was interviewed in a July 31st Fox News story by Meaghen Murphy. In the article, she quotes Randy Bauer of Bauer Griffin agency that he HEARD that US Weekly assigned FameFlynet to follow Stewart and Sanders on a tip that the two were getting busy behind closed doors, or as it looks now, even out of doors.

“From what I heard, it was an assignment, the magazine was actually working the story,” explained Bauer. “(The story) didn’t come from the photographers, it was the other way around: it went editorial to photo, as opposed to photo to editorial.”

Bauer said a typical assignment pays a photographer a day rate around $500.

“For a story of this magnitude, with that kind of information, I would think that (the magazine) would want to dedicate at least a week,” to trailing Stewart and Sanders, said Bauer, which comes out to a fee of about $3,500 per photographer. “Sometimes the pay (for a photographer) wouldn’t be anything more than (a day rate). But then the magazine uses the tactic of, ‘Well, yes, we’re giving you a relatively small amount of money for such a big story, but you’re going to make several hundred thousand dollars in your other markets,’ so it’s in the photographer’s best interest to take the job.”

A top celebrity editor agreed with Bauer’s scenario, telling FOXNews.com: “From what I understand, Us Weekly had been on the story for a while. They had a tip that Kristen was cheating on Rob with her director, so not only did they have photogs on Kristen, they had photogs on Rupert as well.”

FameFlyNet and US Magazine version is that they just kinda got lucky.

Concerning the twitter pic: as you all have enjoyed pointing out, Liberty was not famous before the scandal broke. Her twitter page was public, but there were precious few of what you would call “fans” following it. Her followers were mainly friends and co-workers. Liberty posted the pic with the usual assumption that her friends were watching, not the world. When she realized the eyes of every gossip hound in the western world was suddenly set on her, she deleted the twitter page. Enough said.

I could make the case for shock and anger, as well. Liberty composed herself almost immediately.

I have not read the article but I read somewhere that in an interview she was saying how lonely she was in her marriage and that is was not what she expected being a stay at home mom with two kids when they moved to LA from London. She was used to be a model – big change. I don’t think she was happy either. By getting Kristen to be the target, they knew all hell would break out as she was 1/2 of the most famous young couple with a huge franchise with die hard fans. K&R would be what people cared about. They had everything to gain. We sure know who they are now, I think Liberty will now be looked at twice for auditions, this wouldn’t affect Rupert at all, I’m sure they’ll be invited to places and parties they wouldn’t have before. Her career dropped off drastically after 2009. Unfortunately the career of a model is very short lived, except for the very lucky few (Kate Moss). Snow White and the Huntsman was her first movie. I still find it shocking that so many people seem to buy the b.s US Magazine and FameFlyNet is shoveling regarding this incident. Two interesting quotes from their scandal breaking edition news stand copy describing what the paparazzi saw:

Kristen Stewart has had a hard few weeks. Not only has she been forced to cope with constant tabloid scrutiny following her cheating scandal with married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, but she also has to deal with something far more difficult to stomach: absolute, unfettered hatred. Of course, brutal detractors have been around as long as the famous people they hate (let’s face it: there were probably thousands who thought Betsy Ross was awful and couldn’t sew), but Stewart is living during the age of the Internet, when hatred flows as rapidly as misspellings.

Case in point: This new shirt — sold online — which is causing scandal for reading, “Kristen Stewart Is a Trampire.” It’s a message that’s working up Stewart loyalists for being undeniably mean-spirited — but it’s hardly the only message on the Web that calls out the young star for entering a moral gray zone that many her own age enter. Just search for Stewart’s name on Twitter, every tween’s favorite over-sharing tool (that’s not Tumblr), and you’ll find detractors lining up like it’s the opening of the final Twilight movie. “Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson. They’re both ugly.” “I’m not surprised that Kristen Stewart cheated on Whatshisface. I’m just surprised she did it with a guy.” “Me and my family discussing how much we hate Kristen Stewart.” “I really just hate Kristen Stewart so much.” And, my personal favorite, “Kristen Stewart’s acting teacher was blatantly Plank from Ed Edd & Eddy.”

Cartoon Network-inspired digs aside, it’s Twitter, Facebook, and other avenues of self-expression that are making it harder to be a celebrity these days. Skreened.com, the site with the offending K-Shirt (which is a Kristen Stewart T-Shirt, of course), allows for users to click on a few buttons to create a garment with a horrible message and make it available for public consumption. Even if no one buys a shirt, it’s still far too easy to be cruel — in a pre-Internet era, you would need a steam press, felt letters, and a trip to the mall to create and buy the garment. Now, all the vitriol is free – and virtual.

Which, of course, makes it easier for stars to realize just how hated they are, even if the emotions are completely irrational. Twitter, which brings sentiment to the masses and stars, can not only influence public opinion, but also the celebrities themselves. That’s turned some away from the swarm of negativity that builds up online. Take One Direction boy bander Zayn Malik, a musician who owes a great deal of his band’s success to its teenage, tweeting fans… who eventually drove him off Twitter. His last tweet (with Twitter’s standard grammatical laxity preserved) said, “The reason i don’t tweet as much as i use to, is because I’m sick of all the useless opinions and hate that I get daily.”

You can’t blame him — especially when the hatred has gotten so intense, Twitter requires a police presence. After placing a very respectable third in the men’s 10m diving competition at the London Olympics, young British diver Tom Daley started receiving death threats through on the social media site: “I’m going to find you and I’m going to drown you in the pool,” a UK teen said to Daley. The teen was arrested for harassment before being let go with a warning.

But should Internet negativity deserve more than mere warnings? Everyone can agree that death threats, no matter how they are delivered, are over the line, but how about the garden variety expressions of dislike? What about the lashings Kristen Stewart or Selena Gomez face just for dating boys that are the objects of other girls’ affection (Robert Pattinson and Twitter’s supreme god Justin Bieber, respectively)? What do they say about us as a culture? The sentiments behind these outbursts probably aren’t very different from what girls felt toward anyone who would dare to date David Cassidy or the disdain faced by New Kids on the Block by some teenage males. But now the hatred is out in the open, making it acceptable for all young pop culture fans to adopt a dangerous mean girl attitude towards the latest teen sensation, be it Stewart, Miley Cyrus, or the troubled Demi Lovato. If one user was allowed to publicly embarrass and attack a celebrity, why couldn’t another? Why not use the Internet as society’s giant burn book? But there is a big difference between telling your friends that you hate NKOTB in third period and persistently and senselessly attacking Lovato for her weight where millions can see it. We are becoming accustomed to living in a culture of disdain and forcing those who want to work in it grow impossibly thick skins.

No matter how well-paid these public whipping posts are, it seems evident they’re not going to be able to take the vitriol forever. Lovato, for one, has talked about how bullying contributed to her issues with cutting and eating disorders, and though she’s undoubtedly overcome her insecurities, it’s almost cruel to imagine what awaits her on the Internet while she judges The X Factor. Certainly celebrities are closer to us than ever before, but if we continue to anonymously abuse them with the help of technology, they may be forced to withdraw to a place where we won’t be allowed even the slightest access ever again. And, for Twilight fans, that’s more cruel than a “Trampire” shirt.

Looks like Kristen made both her and her husband famous. Both of them are pigs because she’s doing red carpets and Rupert’s getting jobs from the same SWATH producers who fired Kristen.

She does not need permission to take her kids back to England. She can leave here at anytime. He would have to go to court and file papers to keep her from taking the kids out of the country. I constantly read on all these blogs how this went on for a long time. Where are the pictures? She is followed everywhere she goes.They have paparazzi in England. They have photos of Kristen leaving where she was staying. Going to work or shopping??? One of her taking a walk…not exciting normal daily stuff. Liberty was on the set since she was in the movie so when did they have the opportunity to hook up there??? And everyone else would of noticed. This would been public knowledge long ago. These photos reportedly (unconfirmed) got the stalker $300,000.00. So if they were hooking up all this time like people say they would of had to of been buying the pictures themselves. And that means their fortunes would be gone, and they would be writing the paparazzi I.O.U.’s.
I have to say I give her mother and other family members kudos and respect for staying quiet. Her mom made one statement and that was it. I have seen comments about her tattoos and that she has a lover. Why are people attacking her mother? The inner strength her mother is showing right now is very admirable. If this was my daughter and people were attacking her like this I don’t know if I could do what she is doing. And so what if her mother has tottoos she is not the only woman in the world to have them. How does that reflect on this situation at all?
Kristen is a beautiful talented young woman. She made a huge mistake everyone in the world know that. It is like the shot heard around the world. She said in an interview how things came easy for her and she wished something bad would happen to her, and someone would really fuck her over so she could learn from it. In my opinion why people are so made is because they fell in love with the story. Kristen and Rob play two people that would pay the ultimate price to be together…their existance. It is a good love story. With all the crap going on in the world it is easy to be consumed by something like this. And everyone wants to love someone to the depth of their soul and be loved back the same way. That is what you see on the screen This whole thing has shattered that image of the love story. I was not interested in the Twilight movies and used to tease by daughter for being a Twihard. She got me to watch the movies and I got hooked. I bought all 5 books and read them. Now she teases me, table turned.

Your right thats going to be hard to get over. But they are talking and I beleive they will find a way thru this. If it was over he wouldnt be talking to her. He hasnt made that decision yet.

They are seeing each other in person too. And the talks are going very positively. Some people do work things out and they stay together. That scares you for some reason does it?

Guest you are so wrong. She shouldnt give up on him because he hasnt given up on her. They are still working thru this. And from what Im hearing he didnt say “It Is” in the context that everyone is assuming he did and corrected himself immediateley by saying that isnt what he meant. If he wanted to put out there that they were over he wouldnt have corrected himself. He would have just let it be.

Okay before I go I want to get a few things straight lol. There are some things I know as fact and some things that are just my humble opinion.

Facts first

Kristen had a breif fling.(about 2 weeks.) She met up with the douche a few times and that was it. NO sex. Im getting this from some one pretty close to the situation.

Kristen told Rob in person. He did not find this out on phone.

Rob and Kristen were not talking the first week and a half after everything came out. After that they began to talk and are still talking. Talks are going very good .

Just my opionion by observing what has been going on with the two of them.

Rob and Kristen had gotten more serious in the couple of months leading up to incident. This part is fact. My opionion is that Kristen panicked and acted out. She made a stupid and very human mistake. Lets stone her for that ( sarcasm).

Rob would never ever cheat on Kristen. He was and still is CRAZY about her.

Kristen has learned thru all this how much she loves Rob and wants desperately to work things out.

They didnt talk after she told him. And no way was she going to tell him that on the phone. Shes not that cold despite what the haters would like to beleive.

JS I agree That a break from each other might do them both good and make them reflect on what has happened and why. But the problem is neither of them like being away from the other for very long. They dont do too good apart. Which is why I think they will be cohabitating again soon lol.

Too much history and deep feelings between this 2 to just throw it away.

I agree its not only Kristen that has to change. But you are wrong . Rob never took her for granted and left her alone too much. Thats not what caused this too happen.

Sorry to dissapoint you but he wasnt refencing Kristen with that comment. And it wasnt going on for 3 months. It was about 2 weeks and she only met up with him a few times. There was NO sex. This is my opinion not fact okay lol. I think she would have ended it soon. And I dont think she would have had sex with him. I think she was panicked and acting out. I dont hink her intention was to have sex with him. My humble opinion.

Well Casey as of a few days ago they were not living together again . YET.
I can tell you too that Rob was very angry at first and no talking was done the first week and a half. They are talking and have seen other. More and more recently.

Well the info I have says they are back together because they found it easier to talk it out in the same space than apart. Okay were back lol. Im going to post a few comments and have my say. Be forewarned lol.
First off the apology was not PR driven. When was the last time you have seen some celebrity come out and admit to something? anyone? anyone? Beuller? lol. Its just NOT done. So why was it done? Because Kristen was horrified that a private matter had become a public spectacle. She immediately came out and took full responsiblity for her actions. I did it. Im sorry. End of story. The second part of her apology was directed at Rob. Some idiot fans think so highly of themselves that they think she said what she said about Rob to appease them. So wrong. She was appauled at the public humiliation this was causing him and wanted to tell him how sorry she was and how much she cared about him. It was a plea from someone who was afraid she might lose the most important thing in her life over this. I do think she should have used a better choice of words besides “momentery discretion”. People jumped on this and she should have said brief fling or affair. Would have been a better term for it. She loves Rob its that simple. Now its up to them if they can get past this. I think they will. Why? Because I have seen how much they care for each other. They are not going to give up easily.

Her Pr team did not write her statement. It came from a very emotional Kristen. They did not want her to release it. She insisted.

Okay now onto the recent pics of Kristen. If you knew anything at all about Kristen you would know that no way in hell is this some kind of stunt. She would not be wearing Robs ring, braclet, and hat just for PR sake. She is wearing them because she still cares about him. If they were broke up I gurantee you she would not be wearing them and giving people false assumptions. They are watching her 24/7. She was bound to eventually get papped. ( come out come out where ever you are ninja Rob! lol) They have been spending time together and I think it will just be a matter of time when someone will get a pic of them together.

The second one. They have talked and are still talking it thru and are taking things slowly.

And at the present they are not broken up.They are talking and nothing has been decided yet. But I can tell you that it seems to be going in a positive direction for them getting things back on track.

Ultimately no one knows just what occured between Rupert and Kristen but Rupert and Kristen. No one knows exactly what is happening between Robert and Kristen but Robert and Kristen. And that’s the way it should be.

I do, yes. Name calling is unnecessary and implies Gossip Cop has a personal agenda.
I have no advice for Liberty. She appears to be moving slowly and that’s probably for the best. She has a ten year marriage and two children to consider. While I feel for Rob’s obvious heartbreak and I admire his dignified response to this public fiasco, a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship of a few years just doesn’t compare. Much less complicated and easier to dissolve should he so chose.

All Liberty has to say is that she’s the one who recommended KStew for the part of Snow White. It’s because of Liberty that Sanders even considered her for the part. And this was how KStew repaid Liberty, but going after her husband.

The 2 small children were in the movie, too, so they were on the set with KStew, she met them, she knew them, and she still chose to cheat with their father and lie about it to Rob, the guy who had trusted her. I’m so glad she showed her true colors before things went any further. KStew is NOT the victim. Try to remember that.

And KStew running around in Rob’s clothes is not playing mind games with her fans? Pot, meet Kettle. KStew has been playing games all along, disrespecting Rob, his family, Liberty, her family, she cares for no one but herself, she’s proven that by how she lied and cheated and only confessed when confronted with the pictures.

Actually @hmsk4cali has a very valid point. Liberty Ross – and everybody else, including you – needs to start pointing the finger at Rupert Sanders as that is who has 99% of the blame for this mess. From the time Rupert got in Kristen’s car to the time he got out and everything in bewteen – TOOK A TOTAL OF 7 MINUTES!! That’s the 2 hugs and the kiss with Kristen in the driver’s seat of her car – A MINI COOP FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! What happened to Kristen is the same thing that happens to beautiful young women in offices every day who catch the attention of a predatory man. The drunk Snow White thing was just Liberty trying to blame somebody else – i.e. Kristen (much prettier) – for what her husband was doing. If she can say the incident was someone else’s fault then she doesn’t look too foolish for staying with Rupert. If Liberty wants to repair her marriage, fine – but that’s her decision and she needs to own that decision without for a safety net. The drunken Snow White WAS childish and at 33 Liberty should know better. Whether peopel like it or not, whether they want to ADMIT IT or not, Kristen is the one who has handled this with dignity and sincerity. Rupert made no apology UNTIL KRISTEN DID!!! She apologized by private letter to Liberty though anyone with brains can figure out this was Rupert pursuing her – but Rupert never offered any apology to Rob. And for the record, I’m not a teenage fan, either. I am 56 years old and have seen enough of life to have acquired some smarts. I believe everything Kristen said but when I look at Rupert’s picture – and that includes the wedding picture – I see somebody who has done this before and is going to do it again. Kristen should hold her head up – and to hell with anyone who thinks this his her fault.

In the sunday people here in the UKa half page was devoted to Liberty and said she intends to take back Rupert on condition he signs a 5 point plan .A pre nup that if the do divorce she gets 50%.He can only film in California and only one film a year so he’s not away to often.to attend marriage counselling twice a week.The fifth could not be disclosed(We can be pretty sure it involves any contact with Kristen)If she does take him back she’ll show herself to be weak and he’ll only cheat again.

I couldn’t agree more. I am a couple more years older and have seen men that were married to friends of mine that were just like the scumbag Rupert. He is the kind who is not satisfied, needs and wants a younger woman to keep him feeling younger. They are very experienced at seducing younger women and they end up throwing them away later and the husbands asking for forgiveness and saying it was the girl’s fault. I have been married as long as he has been alive so I know a bit of that kind of perv.
