Liam Payne: New One Direction Album Is “Coming Together Really Well,” Songs Have Oasis Sound
One Direction’s fifth album is “coming together really well,” and has more of an Oasis sound, said Liam Payne. The singer leaked these tidbits and more about the upcoming album when he called into Capital FM Radio in the U.K. on Monday. He added that the songs are “more chill” than on the group’s previous records. Listen below to Liam Payne’s interview.
After noting the new record will have “great songs,” Payne told the radio hosts that it will sound “a bit Oasis-y, almost, which is ace. Love that.” He also said, “The songs are coming out a bit more chill because I think we want this to be quite a long-lasting album that you can listen to anytime.” He compared it to music from Ed Sheeran. “Anytime you throw on an Ed song, it always makes sense,” said Payne.
The album is expected to be released by the end of the year. As Gossip Cop previously reported, Simon Cowell recently said while appearing on the “Late Late Show With James Corden” that the new album will be “the best record they’ve ever made.” What do you think about Liam Payne saying One Direction’s upcoming album will have songs that are “more chill,” with an Oasis sound?
