A new tabloid report baselessly speculates that Liam Neeson might have cancer simply because the actor looked thinner than usual at a recent event. Gossip Cop, however, can exclusively debunk this brazen claim.

“Cancer Fears For Skin & Bones Liam!” blares a headline in the latest issue of the National Enquirer. The accompanying article goes on to say Neeson appeared “gaunt” at an event in New York City earlier this month, prompting “whispers he had contracted a disease – possibly cancer – and was ready to collapse.” A supposed “source” tells the magazine, “He’s never looked so close to the final curtain. We can only pray he takes a turn for the better.”

The outlet goes on to quote a doctor who’s never treated Neeson as insisting he “needs to undergo multiple blood tests and radiological studies,” adding, “His fans and friends should be seriously concerned.” The doctor also quips, “He looks like he’s rehearsing for the role of a cadaver!” Of course, if Neeson truly was dying of cancer, it seems both inappropriate and insensitive for a medical professional to be mocking his health. Fortunately, however, the actor isn’t ill.

Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Neeson, who exclusively assures us he’s in good health and most certainly hasn’t been diagnosed with cancer. We’re told the tabloid’s conjecture otherwise is entirely “false.” Unfortunately, the Enquirer has a nasty habit of alleging a celebrity is on the verge of death when it simply isn’t the case, so this latest fabrication isn’t too surprising.

Last year, we called out the magazine for wrongly reporting that Pamela Anderson was battling cancer. Shortly before that inaccurate story, we busted the magazine for falsely claiming Jennifer Aniston was getting “secret cancer treatment.” Despite the Enquirer’s latest macabre tale, Neeson isn’t suffering from any diseases.
