Is Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus’ wedding off? A new report claims the actor has put the brakes on plans to marry the singer. Gossip Cop can separate the fact from the fiction.

A headline in the new issue of In Touch exclaims, “Liam & Miley: The Wedding Is Off!” It’s said in the accompanying story that Cyrus’ “trip down the aisle is going to have to wait” because her “plans to wed” have been “put on hold indefinitely — and it was Liam’s decision.” A so-called “source” claims that Hemsworth felt “rushed.”

“They were supposed to get married this summer but Liam couldn’t go through with it,” alleges the supposed snitch, who explains, “One minute they were back together and the next they were planning a wedding. It was all happening too fast.” The alleged tipster adds, “They haven’t broken up but they are slowing things down. Miley is heartbroken.”

Uh, not exactly. Hemsworth hasn’t called off anything. What’s really going on is tabloids like In Touch keep falsely claiming when he and Cyrus will marry. And when no wedding takes place, the magazines come up with explanations to cover their poor reporting.

In this case, the excuse is that Hemsworth supposedly had a change of heart. The truth, though, is that nothing has changed on his and Cyrus’ end. In fact, on Thursday, the actor posted a throwback photo from when they were working on The Last Song (see below). It marked Hemsworth’s first Instagram post in about two weeks.

Surely he wouldn’t be flaunting his relationship with Cyrus if he wanted to “slow things down,” as the outlet’s story claims. The couple is progressing at their own pace. The tabloids just rather present fiction over fact.

Throwing it WAY back… what a ‘blur.’ #TBT
