Lexi Walker is a 12-year-old YouTube sensation whose amazing cover of the Frozen hit “Let It Go” was a highlight of Thursday’s Disney Christmas Parade broadcast. Check out the video below, and tell us what you think!
Instead of the holiday’s traditional parade, this year’s “reimagined” event was inspired by Frozen and its message of “uniting family and loved ones.” The telecast was hosted by Robin Roberts from Disney World in Florida, where she was joined by Tim Tebow. Rob Marciano provided coverage from Disneyland in California, while Sarah Hyland joined the festivities from the Aulani Disney resort in Hawaii. Musical performers included Walker, Lucy Hale, Trisha Yearwood, Trey Songz, Gavin DeGraw, Ariana Grande and Prince Royce.
The music of Frozen, of course, has managed to stay enormously popular more than a year after the movie’s release. 2014 was filled with “Let It Go” covers from little kids, soldiers overseas, and practically everyone in between. The track won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at last March’s Oscars, where Idina Menzel gave a live performance.
