“Kate Winslet Attended Titanic Premiere WITHOUT Leonardo DiCaprio!!!” blares facts-challenged alarmist Perez Hilton.

The bad blogger goes on to write that DiCaprio “just didn’t go” to the Titanic 3D event held in London on Tuesday.

“Pshh… what’s his problem??” Perez asks.

Uh, DiCaprio doesn’t have a “problem.”

He just has a busy schedule  – and can’t be on both sides of the Atlantic simultaneously.

A source close to DiCaprio tells Gossip Cop he only missed the Titanic festivites because he was filming Django Unchained in Louisiana.

    Actually somebody close to him said months ago he’d not have promoting the movie ’cause 15 years have passed and he doesn’t want coming back. He isn’t so busy in Lousiana, everyday comes back and forth with his model.

    Good looking, good actor, Titanic and Kate Winslett, The Man in the Iron Mask, The Aviator, they are the only things that spring to mind right away.

    Why is he required to promote a movie that is that old in the first place. Don’t see what the fuss is all about. If he wanted to be there, I am sure he could get a day off, but again, what is the big deal if he is not. He is not that kid anymore.

    I’m convinced that PH just pulls stuff out I his ear in hopes that the celeb contacts him directly to set the record straight.

    And I’m actually surprised that any of the actors showed up for the premiere. A 3D version of Titanic is just not necessary.

    He has no obligation to attend a re release premiere of an old movie. Leo was famous before the Titanic came out and I believe that he would be just as famous now if Titanic never happened. 3d is just a gimmick to get to people to pay again for the same movie. Titanic is not really that great of a movie. The first 10 minutes and last 20 minutes are the only reason to watch it. Also Perez Hilton is the worst blogger. Usually a few days behind most other bloggers and his opinions are usually really stupid.

    I like Leo as an actor & there is no doubt that he has always been talented, even before the exposure that he got from Titanic’s release as a young man.

    But Kate Winslet has proven herself to be just as capable, if not more so than Leonardo (her 6 Oscar nods & 1 win, is proof enough). And yet she has taken time out of her incredibly busy schedule to acknowledge her role in one of the biggest box-office smashes in cinema’s history.

    He would have known of the premier’s release date months in advance, and could have easily slotted it in, like both Winslet & Cameron. I have noted in the past that there is a slight air of pretension about him, even from video interviews with the guy, almost as though he considers himself in the upper echelon of acting ‘royalty’. Even though he regularly upstaged in his films by true greats such as Daniel Day Lewis or Jack Nicholson.

    I remember that Leo went everywhere for all the premiers and promotions of Titanic in 1998, while Kate was almost in none of the prems. Do you people know how much a “day off” costs the studios? LOTS of money and it wouldn’t have been one day off to come London and then, go back to the US.

    What is weird is that the producers of the film said explicitly that they didn’t want involve /associate the film in 3D with the protaginists this time, referring to Leo and Kate. But now, everybody is there including Kate.

    What happened? They changed their minds? Did they just realize that it is IMPOSSIBLE to separate the film in whatever form from Kate and Leo?

    I certainly understand that everybody wants to see them together for Titanic again and I do too! I do miss seeing Leo’s pictures on this red carpet but let’s not make a big deal out of it. No one whined or crucified Kate when she was absent in 1998. Why do it with Leo, now?

    Lighten up Leo. I’m sure he is busy shooting but come on, take a few days off to at least show your appreciation to your fans and the movie that made your career. I’m a huge Leo fan, it would have been nice to have seen him and Kate walking in the premiere hand in hand for old times sake.
