CLAIM: Leonardo DiCaprio to Play Teddy Roosevelt in Martin Scorsese Biopic
“Leonardo DiCaprio Putting His Dream Role Of President Teddy Roosevelt Into Action,” reads the headline of a RadarOnline “exclusive.” A so-called “insider” tells the webloid, “Leo is telling friends that after his latest movie proved to be a massive box office hit, he’s pushing forward with his biopic of Roosevelt which will re-team him with The Wolf of Wall Street director Martin Scorsese.”
RadarOnline goes on to note that the role “could mean a major weight gain for DiCaprio, as he will play the strapping historical figure from his wartime days into the presidency,” but its “insider” claims the actor will “do whatever it takes.” “This is the movie Leo wants to win an Oscar for, and he talks about it all the time,” the supposed source alleges to the outlet. Adds the misinformed tipster, “Leo is telling people he is already done with the year off he took after completing The Wolf of Wall Street and is raring to play Teddy Roosevelt.”
Not so fast. If the fake-sounding quotations weren’t a hint, there entire story is 100 percent made-up. A source close to DiCaprio exclusively tells Gossip Cop it’s “not true” he is moving forward on a Roosevelt biopic. Gossip Cop, once again, challenges everyone to revisit this phony claim in a year’s time, and you’ll see we were 100 percent right, and RadarOnline was entirely wrong.
