Leonard Nimoy Dead: Stars React To Death of Star Trek’s Mr. Spock
The death of Leonard Nimoy, whose iconic portrayal of Mr. Spock on “Star Trek” earned him lasting fame and adoration, has inspired an outpouring of sadness and love online. Millions of Nimoy’s fans have expressed their sorrow, as have a number of Hollywood stars influenced by Nimoy’s work or simply touched by his humanity. “I loved him like a brother,” said his longtime co-star William Shatner. “We will all miss his humor, his talent, and his capacity to love.” Zachary Quinto, who played Spock in the recent rebooted movie franchise, wrote, “My heart is broken. NASA posted a picture of the Star Trek cast and captioned it, “RIP Leonard Nimoy. So many of us at NASA were inspired by Star Trek. Boldly go.” Real-life astronaut Chris Hadfield said, “Leonard, you lived long and prospered, and were an inspiration to me and to millions. Rest in peace.”
