Len Goodman Leaving Dancing With The Stars After Next Season
Len Goodman, the tough but likable “Dancing With the Stars” judge, has announced he’s leaving the ABC dance competition show at the end of the upcoming season. Goodman, who lives in the U.K., said, “Next year, I’m not going to do the flying backwards and forward,” adding, “I’m not going to do the American show… I’ve got to have a bit of time off.”
Noting that “Dancing With The Stars” has been on the air for 10 years and is in its 20th season, Goodman said, “I think that’s a nice place to stop.” He made the comments about leaving the show while promoting the British series, “Come Strictly Dancing.”
Goodman is one of the show’s original judges and has occupied the center seat, with Carrie Ann Inaba to his right and Bruno Tonioli to his left, ever since “Dancing With The Stars “ began in 2005. The 70-year-old professional ballroom dancer, who will continue to be a judge on “Come Strictly Dancing,” has been on that show since 2004.
In 2014, former pro dancer Julianne Hough was added as a judge, Gossip Cop has learned, because producers had an inkling that Goodman was tired of the cross-continent commute. A source told Gossip Cop over the summer that Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who left the show as a dancer, would be open to returning as a judge. What do you think about Len Goodman leaving “Dancing With The Stars”?
