LeAnn Rimes Leaves Treatment to Perform Weekend Shows, Thanks Fans for “Love”

LeAnn Rimes left treatment to perform a short series of concerts this weekend, beginning in Wisconsin on Friday night.

The singer’s 70-minute set at the Regional Arts Center in Eau Claire went off without incident, although Rimes did acknowledge her current struggles, reportedly telling the audience, “I’m pissed off at a lot of things, and I just can’t say it. So it comes out in the music.”

Acknowledging her fans’ patience and understanding, Rimes was quoted as saying, “I’m totally cool and so happy. I think I’m about to cry.”

After the concert, Rimes tweeted, “Thanks to all my wonderful fans in Wisconsin. You showed me an amazing amount of love and respect tonight. Love you always.”

On August 29, Rimes checked into a 30-day in-patient facility to “learn and develop coping mechanisms,” prompting a flurry of sensationalized tabloid speculation.

She’s slated to do shows in Iowa on Saturday and Indiana on Sunday before returning to treatment.

    Well said. Me too. People are still beating her up for her choices. But it’s her life — not ours. I think we all need to stop judging each other, have some compassion, and worry about what’s in our own backyards.

    Amazing singer (not many around these days). Let’s not forget her tumultuous childhood, which I think is the source of all her issues. Here’s hoping she gets the help and support she needs.

    PLEASE GC in the name of everything worth our respect! No more LeAnn stories. The only thing keeping her name out there is her lack of fidelity. Her ‘choices’ as some call it, were her downfall and now she is trying to recoup fans through sympathy. I don’t feel sorry for her one bit. You reap what you sowe. Amazed that she still has tour dates.

    I can’t imagine that performing in front of a decent number of people can do too much to curb the “stress” and “anxiety” that she sought treatment for.
