Dancing with the Stars Results Switch-Up

A favorite pair was kicked off Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars,” leaving five remaining couples to compete in the show’s semi-finals.

The remaining contestants had to fight injuries and exhaustion as they tried to perfect two dances this week. For the first time in 19 seasons, each couple’s song and dance style for their individual performances were voted on by fans for “America’s Choice” night. The pairs also had to prepare a trio dance to be performed with another pro who was already eliminated or a member from the Troupe.

Surprisingly, the lowest scoring couple, Tommy Chong and his partner Peta Murgatroyd, were announced to be safe earlier in the night. Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev and Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas were the two pairs in jeopardy, although not necessarily the bottom two. Ultimately, Thompson was sent home based on the judges’ scores and viewers’ votes from last week. Thompson said of her departure, “I just feel really great. I feel great in my body. I feel strong. I am anxious to get back to my day job on ‘Switched at Birth.'” She said of her partner, “I love this man. He is a new pro here and he did a great job with me.”

Thompson now joins the other contestants who were sent home this season, including Michael Waltrip, Antonio Sabato Jr., Jonathan Bennett, Betsey Johnson, Randy Couture, Tavis Smiley, and Lolo Jones. Do you think Thompson should have been sent home?
