Lea Michele Gets “5” Tattoo In Honor Of Cory Monteith (PHOTO)
Late Monday night, the “Scream Queens” star first revealed new ink she had done in tribute to her grandmother. The permanent artwork shows a small coffee cup with steam rising on the inside of Michele’s finger. She tweeted along with the picture, “For you Grandma.. I love you forever..”
But on Tuesday morning, Michele revealed she also had something else done. “And one more.. for my quarterback,” she tweeted. Accompanying the message was a photo of a “5” tattoo, though it’s hard to tell from the snapshot exactly where on her body it is. As “Glee” fans know, Monteith’s character Finn wore a “5” jersey as a member of the high school football team.
When the series wrapped in February of 2015, Michele actually took home a framed “5” jersey. At the time, the actress shared a picture showing herself carrying it off set as she walked into the night. Now the tattoo comes more than a year later, and a few months before the three-year anniversary of Monteith’s death.
As Gossip Cop has reported, the actor died of a drug overdose in July 2013 at age 31. While working through her grief, Michele went on to date Matthew Paetz but they split earlier this year. See the star’s new tattoo in Monteith’s honor below.
