Laurie Hernandez Performs Perfect ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Semifinals Routine (VIDEO)
Laurie Hernandez and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy were perfect again on Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars.” The two performed a foxtrot to Tori Kelly’s “Hollow” during the competition show’s semifinals. Watch the video below.
Before her performance, Hernandez talked about her beloved grandmother, and how she wanted to win for her. Sadly, a dat after that piece was taped, Hernandez’s grandmother passed away. Still, the Olympian danced with tremendous passion.
A frontrunner to win this season’s “Dancing With The Stars,” Hernandez’s latest flawless dance comes on the heels of two other back-to-back weeks of perfect performances. After a couple of weeks of falling out of the top spot, she returned to nail a Viennese waltz. And last week the Olympic gold medal gymnast was flawless again with her Argentine tango on “Showstoppers” night. Julianne Hough called her routine a “perfect dance” to showcase Hernandez’s talent. Bruno Tonioli exclaimed, “You are guilty of killing the tango!” And Carrie Ann Inaba was equally in awe of the young athlete.
This time around for her foxtrot to Tori Kelly’s “Hollow,” Hough felt her performance “exceeded” everyone’s expectations. Inaba expressed, “You represent the American dream, and the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ dream.” And Tonioli said, “You executed everything beautifully… Stunning.” For their routine, Hernandez and Chmerkovskiy received a total of 30 out of 30 points.
