Laurie Hernandez Performs Near Perfect Redemption Dance On ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Finals (VIDEO)
Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy continued their winning streak on Monday “Dancing With The Stars” finals. For their redemption style dance, they performed a paso doble to Dorothy’s “Wicked Ones.” Watch the video below.
The frontrunner of this season’s “Dancing With The Stars” has pretty much danced flawlessly for the past few weeks. Just last week, Hernandez nailed two dances. Her first was a foxtrot with Chmerkovskiy, which prompted Bruno Tonioli to exclaim, “You executed everything beautifully.” And Julianne Hough said her performance “exceeded” everyone’s expectations. “You represent the American dream, and the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ dream,” added Carrie Ann Inaba.
Following that, the Olympic gold medalist returned later in the semifinals to do a trio dance with Chmerkovskiy and his older brother Maksim. The three danced a samba, which Inaba called, “It was by far your best dance ever!” Meanwhile, Hough felt it was “so amazing.” And during the finals, Hernandez did not disapppoint.
About her paso doble, Len Goodman said, “There was nothing in that dance I didn’t like.” Hough offered how much she enjoyed seeing Hernandez’s “growth.” Tonioli expressed, “That was wicked in the best possible way.” And Inaba gushed, “You are the most determined soul I’ve ever met, and it showed.” For their redemption style dance, Hernandez and Chmerkovskiy received a near perfect 38 out of 40 points.
