Lauren Conrad is busy with her fashion and lifestyle businesses, but she tells Allure she’s trying to keep work out of certain places.

“Your bed is for sleep and sex,” she says. That’s probably fine by Conrad’s fiancé William Tell, whose background is much more private than “The Hills” alum’s.

“He doesn’t like taking pictures,” she tells Allure. “He thinks he looks terrible in photos, so I have almost no photos of us, although I just got our engagement photos back, which was like the worst day ever for him. I was so excited to finally have some.”

His proposal came as a happy surprise to Conrad. She explains, “I knew I was going to marry him; I just thought that it was going to come a little later. He picked the setting and did the ring all by himself, and I think he was really proud of it.”

Of course, there have been some adjustments to her life with Tell involved. “If it was up to me, my home would be just over-the-top girlie and vintage, but I share my home with a gentleman now,” says Conrad.

Whether it’s MTV or entrepreneurship, Conrad takes pride in everything she does. “You have to represent yourself well no matter what you do,” she explains. Is she a budding Martha Stewart? Conrad exclaims, “I wish!” The April issue of Allure will go on sale March 31. What do you think of Conrad’s interview?
