Laura Prepon And “Orange Is The New Black” Creator Jenji Kohan Get Restraining Orders Against Fan
Laura Prepon and her “Orange Is the New Black” creator Jenji Kohan have both gotten restraining orders against a scary fan named William Austin III, who wrote disturbing posts about them on social media, Gossip Cop confirms. Prepon and Kohan filed separately, and each received restraining orders that require Austin to stay at least 100 yards away from them at all times. The restraining order also extends to their family members.
In her court papers, Prepon cited an Instagram post by Austin that featured a photo of the actress, along with the caption, “Here is a recent picture of LauraPrepon my Wifey and Friend.” The tweet, however, also included emojis of an angry face, a diamond ring, a gun, and a knife.
According to Kohan’s filing, Gossip Cop is told she furnished the court with an Instagram post that had audio in which she was allegedly threatened, “Get ready, violence is coming.”
This isn’t the first time an “Orange Is The New Black star has been harassed by a fan. Last July, Jeanine Heller was sentenced to six months in jail for sending 30 texts to actress Taryn Manning, a violation of her conditional discharge. Heller had previously been sentenced to 45 days in jail in January for contacting Manning on 48 different occasions, despite a restraining order. Heller had also been arrested on three previous occasions for harassing Manning.
