Larry King is less than sold on Piers Morgan, his presumptive replacement.

According to Forbes, King is mostly unfamiliar with the British TV personality’s work and would still like to see Ryan Seacrest take over when “Larry King Live” ends its CNN run.

“He’s my favorite,” King says of Seacrest. “It’s subjective because he’s my friend, but I think he’d be immediately accepted.” When asked about Seacrest’s strengths, King says, “The camera likes him and he’s a great generalist.”

King is not quite as enthusiastic about Morgan, widely speculated to replace him in CNN’s 9 o’clock hour.

“I’ve never seen him interview [anyone] but I hear he’s quite good. I don’t know him,” King says with regards to the “America’s Got Talent” judge. “Other than being a guest on my show, I’ve never watched ‘America’s Got Talent’ and I don’t know if I’d recognize him if he was walking down the street.”

King believes it will be important for Morgan to be original if he takes over the time slot.

“I don’t know what the show is going to be like or how they’re going to do it,” he says, “But the best advice I could give him, and I would give it to any talent, is be yourself. If you try to be someone else, it never works.”

Would you rather see Morgan or Seacrest get the gig?

Ugh, Larry is so out of touch with the world around him! He used to be the one to turn to each night to see who was sitting with him on that lighted stage. He used to get the breaking stories, but then his show started being so damned hyped up and overdone. He doesn’t even seem to know many of the people he’s talking to anymore, like he’s puzzled by what’s going on . . . I wish him well, but he needed to go looong ago. Oh and that mouth clicking thing he does drives me NUTS!
