“Dallas” star Larry Hagman has died.

He was 81.

The legendary TV actor passed away at a Dallas hospital on Friday afternoon from cancer complications.

“Larry was back in his beloved Dallas, re-enacting the iconic role he loved most,” his family says in a statement.

“Larry’s family and close friends had joined him in Dallas for the Thanksgiving holiday. When he passed, he was surrounded by loved ones.”

“It was a peaceful passing, just as he had wished for. The family requests privacy at this time,” the statement concludes.

Hagman, who revealed last year that he was battling throat cancer, had recovered enough to reprise his character J.R. Ewing on the TNT reboot of the classic series.

“Dallas” co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy were reportedly present when Hagman passed.

He is also best known for starring on the sitcom, “I Dream of Jeannie,” which aired for 5 seasons.

Hagman is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Maj, and their two children.

God Bless, Larry and family. Better than J.R. in real life, you pushed, stood-up for and defended the rights of your colleagues. You broke new ground, Sir. *Bows*. I will not forget. Thank you for it all…….

Larry Hagman’s contribution to television and the entertainment world is nothing less than tremendous. He created one of TV’s greatest characters in J.R. Ewing. He was larger than life. It’s so terribly sad when such a person passes. God bless the great Larry Hagman. There will never be another like him.

Nice to know, have to check with DirecTV if I can get that channel, had to downgrade to their cheapest package due to budget, which is the family package.

I found that out after I posted this. And Larry only filmed 6 eps out of the 13 that’s comming up. Jim Davis who play JR and Bobbys dad Jock died of cancer after seasion 3 of the old dallas. It’s wried that this is happing again with Larry.
