Lana Del Rey’s musical performance on “Saturday Night Live” last month was widely panned.

“SNL” addressed the matter during tonight’s show, when “Del Rey” (as played by Kristen Wiig) dropped by “Weekend Update.”

Anchor Seth Meyers mentioned the unusually harsh criticism of Del Rey, who replied, “Based on the public’s response, I must have clubbed a baby seal while singing the Taliban national anthem.”

“Del Rey” then continued to address her critics’ concerns – with some stinging, deadpan sarcasm.
