Lamar Odom Heart Function Improving, Still On Life Support
Lamar Odom’s heart function showed signs of improvement on Friday morning, though his overall condition is unchanged.
The NBA star remains unresponsive three days after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel. He is still on life support, with a ventilator and feeding tube helping keep him alive. And several of Odom’s organs, especially his kidneys, are still failing.
But the latest tests and examination indicated that his heart, one of the organs that was shutting down, is now showing a little bit more function. Unfortunately, while the news is a glimmer of hope, it does not in any way ensure Odom’s survival or a meaningful recovery. It is one piece in a large, complex puzzle that, sadly, may very well worsen again.
Doctors have advised Odom’s family and friends to keep stimulation in his hospital room to a minimum to provide a better environment for his body to heal. As Gossip Cop reported, the Kardashian-Jenner family returned to Los Angeles on Thursday, leaving Khloe Kardashian at her estranged husband’s bedside. Since they are still legally married, all medical decisions are in her control.
Odom’s ex and their two children have been at the hospital as well, and released a statement on Thursday night asking for “continued prayers,” as Gossip Cop reported. We will continue to have updates.
