Lady Gaga is NOT subsisting on a “sushi and champagne diet,” despite a silly tabloid story. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the nonsense.

This week’s Life & Style says, “As Lady Gaga counts down to the Oscars on Feb. 28, she’s making sure she’ll look her best — by sticking to a diet of only sushi and champagne.” A so-called “pal” is quoted as saying, “She calls it her ‘good luck diet.'”

“At first she thought the all-fish and bubbly diet just made her feel healthier and more clear-headed,” claims the supposed source, “but now she’s turned it into a weird good-luck ritual to help her win the Oscar.” It’s even alleged Gaga’s handlers “shrug off” the “wacky eating plan” as “Gaga just being Gaga,” with the tipster saying, “When Gaga sets her mind to something, there’s no changing it!”

Gossip Cop has no doubt that Gaga can be determined and committed, but she also knows better than to just live off alcohol and sushi. And the pop star doesn’t just have the Oscars coming up. This Sunday she’ll be performing at the Super Bowl, and in less than two weeks, she’ll do a tribute to David Bowie at the Grammys. All three events require nutrient-filled stamina that Gaga just wouldn’t get from only eating sushi.

But even though the story doesn’t have much logic behind it, Gossip Cop still looked into the claim. Not surprisingly, Gaga’s rep laughed off the “sushi and champagne diet” as made-up. Time for this report to sleep with the fishes!
