Lady Gaga smoked marijuana and sang its praises on stage in Amsterdam on Monday.

The singer happily ditched her burqa and “c**t” bag for some weed when a member of the audience tossed a joint her way.

“Ahh… thank you!” said an appreciate Gaga, asking, “Holland, is it real? Don’t tease me.”

Taking a sniff, she determined it was, in fact, the genuine article.

She lit up to the crowd’s delight.

Later, Gaga was quoted as telling the Little Monsters in attendance, “I thought [Amsterdam] would be an appropriate place to discuss… being a cannabis smoker, because I have decided that I want you to know the truth, which is that it has totally changed my life, and that I’ve really cut down on drinking.”

She added, “It’s been a totally spiritual experience for me with my music.”

    Since when has she ever set an example for young people? Her entire persona (just watch the video for Telephone) is contradictory to that claim.

    She’s been out of the press for awhile, time to get some attention again. I have no problem with dope, but this and the clothing thing reported earlier reek of desperation.

    Geez you people are uptight. It’s ridiculous that pot is illegal. Since when is it Gaga’s job to raise your kids. You don’t want your kids to smoke pot then talk to them about it. Be an actual parent and stop copping out by blaming stars for not being the role model you expect them to be.

    Pot should not be illigal, this whole it’s a gate way drug is rediculious. Pot has never made me decide to stick a needle in my arm and shoot up some heroin. There are more important things for the police to be policing.

    Well that just makes it all better then!? And she is always setting examples for young people, just not good ones… Who do you think listen to her music and go to her concerts? Only adults or even primary adults? I think not.

    I don’t believe it’s her responsibility to tone her act down on albums and in concerts if parents allow their kids to listen to her. It’s not her job to set an example for teens/youth. She’s never claimed to be a role model (plus she used to do “mountains of cocaine”) but it still doesn’t make her antics annoying.

    it’s the world we live in though. I believe we all have a responsibility, public figures even more so. I don’t say, that she needs to change her act or sensor her music videos, but using illegal substances on stage is a little much. It might not be illegal in Holland, but it sure is, where most of her fans reside. By doing doing this, she is (by my interpretation) signaling to people that doing drugs is okay or even cool.
