Lady Gaga And Tony Bennett To Perform Concert Fundraiser For Hillary Clinton
The music legends, who have been performing as a duo for more than a year, will perform at a fundraiser for the presidential candidate on June 24. The New York City event is described as “intimate performance in support of Hillary for America,” with Clinton set to give a speech as well. Ticket prices begin at $1,000, and go up to $2,700 for premium seating.
But there’s more. Any donors who raise $27,000 will be named official co-hosts of the night, while those who raise $50,000 are not just full-on hosts, but also get to attend a private reception with Clinton, as well as the after-party with Gaga and Bennett. So, uh, start counting those pennies in your seat cushions.
Gaga is not the first superstar to come on board for Clinton’s 2016 campaign. As Gossip Cop reported, Beyoncé attended a Los Angeles fundraiser last month. The former Secretary of State then sought to capitalize on the singer’s appearance at the event, with Clinton’s camp tweeting, “Say you’ll Bey on Team #Hillary2016, too.” Gossip Cop can only wonder what the Gaga pun will be.
The one-time-only Clinton performance comes in the midst of the pop star’s “Cheek to Cheek” tour with Bennett. As Gossip Cop noted earlier this week, the pair was forced to cancel a show in London after Bennett came down with the flu, which sparked false rumors that he had a heart attack. It’s great to see he’s already making plans for the future. TELL US: What do you think of celebrities endorsing candidates?
