Kristen Wiig Worried About Kate McKinnon Stealing Her Roles?
According to OK!, the “Saturday Night Live” alum feels that current cast member McKinnon, who was also her Ghostbusters co-star, is stepping on her toes. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Kristen would never say this to her face, but there have been a few roles Kate nabbed, like Office Christmas Party, that Kristen believed she would have been perfect for.”
The outlet’s dubious insider adds, “She makes jokes about Kate being ‘the next Kristen Wiig,’ but she really isn’t kidding. She can see where all this is leading.” The tabloid’s seemingly phony source further purports that Wiig is “worried about going head-to-head with Kate for movies, so she’s encouraging her to stick to TV.”
Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a reliable source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us the publication’s story is entirely “false.” We’re told Wiig and McKinnon are close friends and supportive of each other’s careers. This is simply a non-issue. In fact, Gossip Cop previously busted OK! for its similarly untrue claim that Wiig was jealous of Amy Schumer. Despite the magazine’s attempt to once again pit the former “SNL” star against another comedienne, the report is fabricated.
