Kristen Stewart: “I Love Getting Physical,” Being “Weirdo” With Jesse Eisenberg (VIDEO)
Kristen Stewart called herself a “weirdo,” and admitted she wished she got to do more stunts during an appearance on the “Today” show on Monday. Watch below!
The star was joined by Jesse Eisenberg to promote American Ultra, which hits theaters later this month, and it was pointed out that Stewart got to be an action star, even if it only lasts for a few seconds. “I love getting physical,” the actress confessed. “It’s such a particular thing, ’cause I’m sort of like this backbone of emotional stability for him, but we’re in such a ridiculously heighted [situation]… I’m constantly telling him things are okay when things are so completely not okay.”
Stewart continued, “I wish I got to do a little more fighting. I have like 30 seconds in which I prove myself. My elbows prove to be useful.” Eisenberg isn’t typically in action films, either, leading him to quip, “Normally I do movies about people complaining in rooms.” But getting to fight in American Ultra was the “greatest thing.”
The movie marks Stewart and Eisenberg’s second on-screen team-up, and they’re set to collaborate again on Woody Allen’s next movie. Asked what makes it work between them, a self-deprecating Eisenberg responded, “I just got lucky. I guess for her, she lost a bet.” Stewart, however, had a more introspective answer.
She explained, “I think we’re both just kind of weirdos. And so, like as a team, we’re a little bit less weird, because we get it from each other. We’re like the nerds who actually, as a whole, become like, ‘Oh, we can make a cool movie together.'” Check out the full interview below!
